Karnataka Police Arrest Three Men For Gang-Rape And Robbery In Mysuru

The Karnataka Police in Mysuru have apprehended three individuals on charges related to the gang-rape and robbery of a 30-year-old woman from West Bengal. The arrests followed an incident that allegedly occurred during the night of July 18 to July 19, 2026, in T Narasipura town, Mysuru district.

According to the victim’s complaint, she had been returning home from a friend’s birthday celebration and was walking towards the KSRTC bus stand when the accused purportedly intercepted her in a car around 9:45 PM. The men are said to have forced her into the vehicle against her will.

The victim reported that she was taken to multiple locations before being confined in a lodge near Sante Maralli in Chamarajanagar district, where the alleged assault occurred. She stated that after the assault, the accused robbed her of Rs 5,000 in cash and two mobile phones before leaving her near her home in the early hours of July 19.

Response by Law Enforcement

The victim promptly reported the incident to local authorities, lodging her complaint at 1:45 PM on July 19. Police officials initiated an investigation based on her statements. Following her report, they registered a First Information Report (FIR) citing multiple criminal sections under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

Within 24 hours of filing the complaint, T Narasipura Police managed to trace and apprehend the three suspects identified as Kiran, Kishore, and Riyan, all residents of T. Narasipura. The efficiency of the investigation has drawn attention, particularly given the severe nature of the alleged offences.

The FIR was subsequently forwarded to the appropriate judicial authorities, namely the Principal Civil Judge (Senior Division) and Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in T Narasipura, at 8:00 PM on July 20. This action reflects the seriousness with which law enforcement is treating the incident.

Following the distressing event, the victim was taken to a local hospital for medical assessment and support.
