A 70-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by two of her neighbours on the night of July 21 in Alwar district, Rajasthan. According to police reports, the incident occurred around 10:30 pm when the accused reportedly broke into her home while she was asleep. The assailants intruded into her residence and, allegedly, committed the crime against the elderly woman.

The victim’s son, who was also in the house at the time, reportedly awoke to his mother’s cries for help. After the assault, the two men allegedly fled the scene before they could be apprehended. Subsequently, the survivor managed to inform authorities about the distressing incident.

Quick Police Response and Arrests

According to police officials, the response to the complaint was swift and efficient. The local police department, led by Kherli Station House Officer Vijay Chandel, initiated an operation immediately after the complaint was lodged. Within approximately 30 minutes, officers apprehended the two accused individuals, identified as Moradhwaj, son of Birdhi Jatav, and Bacchu, son of Nanga Jogi.

After their arrest, law enforcement personnel collected forensic evidence and conducted a medical examination of the survivor. Investigators also facilitated the recording of her statement before a magistrate as part of the ongoing legal proceedings. A mobile forensic team was reportedly summoned to the crime scene to gather crucial evidence that could aid in the case.

Both accused have been identified as neighbours of the victim, which has raised significant concern within the local community. Following the arrests, the suspects were presented in court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.

In comments regarding the situation, Joginder Singh Rajawat emphasised the seriousness of the case. The police are treating it with extreme urgency and are prioritising the completion of the investigation. Officers aim to have the matter processed through fast-track judicial channels to ensure that the survivor receives justice promptly and without unnecessary delays.

As investigations continue, the police are focused on gathering all relevant evidence and obtaining witness statements to strengthen the case. Efforts are also being made to ensure that the survivor’s welfare is taken into account during the ongoing legal process.
