JEE Advanced Result 2026: How to Download Scorecard and Check AIR Rank

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has published the results for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam on June 1. This announcement concludes weeks of waiting for students aspiring to secure a place in prestigious engineering colleges across India. Candidates who sat for the examination on May 17 can access their scorecards from the official website, jeeadv.ac.in.

The examination serves as a pivotal step for students aiming for admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other participating institutions. In addition to individual scorecards, IIT Roorkee has provided comprehensive details including candidates’ ranks in the Common Rank List (CRL) as well as category-wise merit lists.

Top-performing candidates’ names have also been disclosed, reflecting the competitive nature of the examination. Students are encouraged to review their performance closely, as it will impact their future educational choices.

Accessing the Scorecards

Candidates can check their results by visiting the official JEE Advanced portal. To retrieve their scorecards, they must log in with their registration number or roll number, date of birth, and registered mobile number. Following the submission of these details, the scorecard will appear on the screen, and candidates can download it for future reference.

The scorecard includes essential information such as marks obtained in both Paper 1 and Paper 2, subject-specific scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, total aggregate marks, qualifying status, CRL rank, and category rank where applicable. It is critical for candidates to keep a printed copy, as this will be required during the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process.

With the ranks obtained from JEE Advanced, students will be placed into the counselling process, which is key for admission into IITs and other reputable institutions.

Top Performers and Statistics

The results announcement also includes a list of top rank holders from the JEE Advanced 2026 examination. The examination showcased an intense level of competition among some of the country’s most academically talented students, particularly those from renowned educational centres.

IIT Roorkee is expected to release further statistical information, including attendance rates, qualification percentages, category-wise performance, and cut-off marks. This data will provide valuable insights into the examination’s overall outcome.

A brief overview of the previous year’s results reveals that JEE Advanced 2025, conducted by IIT Kanpur, saw participation from 1,80,422 candidates, of which 54,378 qualified, including 9,404 female candidates. High-scoring candidates such as Rajit Gupta secured All India Rank (AIR) 1, while top female candidates also excelled, emphasising the rigorous academic competition present.

Upcoming JoSAA Counselling Process

With the results now available, the next phase is the JoSAA counselling process, which will take place in several rounds. Qualified candidates must register online, select their preferred institutes and programmes, and participate in the seat allocation rounds based on their performance.

Seat allotments will depend on the JEE Advanced ranks achieved by candidates, their category, current seat availability, and preferences submitted during counselling. While IIT admissions rely on JEE Advanced scores, other institutions such as National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will continue to use JEE Main ranks for their admission process.

JEE Advanced scores are accepted by all IITs, including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Madras, among others. Admissions to these institutes will follow the same criteria of candidates’ ranks, category-wise cut-offs, and seat availability during the counselling phases.
