A 17-year-old Class 12 student, identified as Prince Soni, reportedly died under suspicious circumstances in the Jhotwara area of Jaipur. The family has claimed that the incident occurred after Prince consumed food from the school canteen. As investigations unfold, the police have indicated that the exact cause of death will be determined following a post-mortem examination.

Family Alleges Delay by School Authorities

The student’s family staged a protest outside the school, alleging negligence on the part of the administration. They asserted that Prince was not immediately taken to a medical facility and remained on campus for approximately 45 minutes before his relatives were contacted. It was only after they arrived that he was transferred to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to reports from the family, on Wednesday, Prince did not bring his lunchbox and opted to buy food from the canteen with his friends. It was claimed that shortly after consuming a patty, he began to vomit, and his health rapidly deteriorated. The family stated that Prince returned to his classroom, informed a teacher of his ailing condition, and subsequently collapsed.

The family further alleged that the teacher informed the school administration about Prince’s condition, leading to his relocation to another room by several individuals, including an administrator. A relative, identified as Ravi Kumar, stated that around 11 am, Prince was moved from the classroom, and the family was then alerted to the situation.

In their account, the family noted that school authorities insisted on them arranging their own transportation for Prince rather than facilitating his immediate transfer to a hospital. This delay reportedly lasted until around 11.45 am, causing further distress and frustration among the family members. They finally reached the school, transported Prince to the hospital, where he was declared dead by medical professionals.
