In an exciting encounter at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, Mitchell Marsh’s explosive performance, scoring 90 runs off just 38 balls, propelled Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to a convincing seven-wicket victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 15, 2026. Marsh’s innings included seven sixes and nine fours, showcasing his power-hitting ability.

LSG set a target of 188 runs, which they successfully chased down with 20 balls to spare. The innings was characterized by a remarkable opening partnership of 135 runs between Marsh and Josh Inglis, who contributed 36 runs from 32 balls. Marsh reached his half-century in a remarkable 21 balls, hitting CSK’s bowler Anshul Kamboj for an incredible 28 runs in one over.

After five overs, the scoreboard read 67/0, and by the end of the power play, LSG had moved to 86/0, effectively taking control of the match. Even beyond the power play, Marsh continued to dominate the CSK attack, and the team reached 124/0 in just 10 overs. However, the partnership came to an end when Inglis was dismissed in the 12th over by Mukesh Choudhary. Marsh followed shortly after, run out due to a deflection off Choudhary’s fingertips.

After Marsh’s departure, LSG stood at 136/2. Although CSK managed to take another wicket, they could not capitalize. Nicholas Pooran, finishing the game with a quick 32 runs off 17 balls, played a crucial role in guiding his team to victory, hitting four consecutive sixes in the final overs. The match concluded with LSG successfully reaching their target in just 16.4 overs.

For CSK, Mukesh Choudhary and Spencer Johnson were the only bowlers to take wickets during the match, ending with figures of 1/24 and 1/39 respectively.
