Faridabad Woman Found Dead; Family Accuses In-Laws of Dowry Killing

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 23-year-old woman was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances in Faridabad, prompting her family to allege that she was a victim of dowry-related violence perpetrated by her husband and in-laws. The deceased, identified as Seema, reportedly married Praveen approximately two years ago. Following the discovery of her body, the local authorities initiated a case against the alleged perpetrators based on the family’s claims.

Details of the Allegations

Seema’s family has made serious allegations regarding her death, claiming it was not a suicide, as suggested by the condition in which her body was found. They believe she was murdered and then hanged to create the appearance of a suicide. Initial reports indicate that Seema and her husband Praveen resided with his family shortly after their marriage, but due to ongoing domestic issues, they moved to a rented apartment a few months prior to her death.

According to family members, Seema faced continuous demands from her in-laws for financial support and a truck, which they allegedly sought for a construction business. The family contends that the failure to meet these demands led to her murder. Such claims highlight the substantial pressure placed on her, which they assert ultimately culminated in the tragic incident.

In response to her death, Seema’s family organised a protest at the residential society where she and Praveen had been living. The demonstration intensified as emotions ran high, prompting local police to deploy additional personnel to maintain order and manage the situation effectively.

Police Investigation Underway

Authorities are actively investigating the claims made by Seema’s family. The body has been taken into custody for a post-mortem examination, which will help ascertain the cause of death. Station House Officer Prahlad Kumar stated that all available evidence from the scene has been collected and an in-depth investigation is planned. He added that the results of the post-mortem report are currently awaited.

Following the lodging of a formal complaint by Seema’s relatives, a case has been registered against her husband, as well as her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and another family member. This marks a significant step in the legal proceedings surrounding this unfortunate case.

Authorities have assured that the case will receive thorough scrutiny, highlighting their commitment to uncovering the truth. The post-mortem examination will be conducted in the presence of Seema’s family, allowing them to be involved in the investigative process as it unfolds.
