A Delhi Police head constable is alleged to have shot two individuals during a birthday celebration in Dwarka, leading to one fatality. The officer, identified as Neeraj, was said to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time.

The confrontation reportedly began when Neeraj arrived at the location and engaged in a heated argument with two attendees, Pandav and his friend Rupesh. Witnesses claim that the altercation escalated rapidly, resulting in the constable drawing his firearm. It is alleged that Neeraj shot Pandav at close range, hitting him in the left side of the chest. Rupesh sustained injuries as he was struck by a bullet in the left side of his abdomen.

An eyewitness, who was present at the birthday event, recounted the events leading to the shooting. According to the witness, Neeraj initiated a verbal confrontation with both victims. As tensions heightened, he allegedly resorted to gunfire, which ultimately resulted in tragedy. The eyewitness described how the situation devolved from a verbal dispute into an act of violence.

Emergency Response and Medical Care

Subsequent to the shooting, both injured individuals were promptly transported to Rao Tularam Hospital in Jafarpur Kalan. Tragically, upon their arrival, medical personnel declared Pandav deceased due to the severity of his injuries. Rupesh was later moved to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Hari Nagar to receive specialised medical attention for his condition.

The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident and have sent Pandav’s body for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. Following the shooting, the police have lodged a case in accordance with the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). Meanwhile, efforts are underway to locate and apprehend Neeraj, who has reportedly been evading authorities since the incident.
