CSR News: BKT Tires Distributes 50000 Masks, 15000 Bed sheets & 5000 PPE Kits in Punjab

Indian multinational group Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT Tires) has distributed 50000 Masks, 15000 bedsheets and 5000 PPE Kits in Punjab in order to equip the region in its fight against the COVID-19 virus. BKT distributed to the frontline workers in a bid to prevent the spread of the disease.
BKT Tires CSR has been providing continual support to all regions of the country during these difficult times. Since the beginning of the pandemic, it has reached out to over 5,00,000 affected people in India.
Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director of Balkrishna Industries Limited said “We have always believed in doing everything we can for the community, and at a time like this, we know that there is nothing more important than saving as many lives as possible. We are lending our helping hand to aid the people in every way in this fight against the virus. We truly believe that all of us shall emerge stronger as we brave all storms and grow together during this pandemic.”
Sunny Deol, Brand Ambassador of BKT and current M.P of Gurdaspur stated, “It is indeed a proud moment for me, as we are able to provide the best safety for the people of Gurdaspur, amidst this crisis. As a representative for Gurdaspur and BKT, I believe I have a responsibility towards the service of others, during a time such as this, and we have now been able to ensure the well being of the people of the constituency, and shield them with the all the neccessary resources.”
In addition to providing 5,00,000 specially cooked meals, more than 3,00,000 kgs of wheat flour, 60,000 litres of cooking oil, 60,000 kgs of lentils, 60,000 kgs of salt, 1,20,000 kgs of rice, 60,000 kgs of sugar, 60,000 kgs of spice bags and 60,000 bottles of soap were distributed by the CSR of BKT all over the country. As many as 4,00,000 Masks, 1,00,000 disposable bedsheets and 55,000 PPE Kits, were also provided, along with 12 critical hemodynamic monitors to ensure the best safety.
15,000 Doctor scrub suits along with 4,00,00 masks were distributed under the #BKTTakeAStepChallenge project. Furthermore, more than 3,000 counter shields were distributed to tire dealers. BKT family contributed their one day salary, which was doubly matched by the CMD Arvind Poddar as a contribution to PM CARES fund.
