Court Orders Release of 64 Customers Arrested in Mumbai Bar Raid

The CSR Journal Magazine

A court in Mumbai has ordered the release of 64 customers arrested during a police raid at an orchestra bar in Dahisar. This decision came after the customers were presented to the court on Tuesday, where judges questioned the rationale behind the arrests. The court expressed dissatisfaction with the police’s decision to detain patrons of the establishment.

The Dahisar police carried out the raid on Monday night at the Samudra Orchestra Bar. According to reports, this operation led to the arrest of eight bar staff members along with the customers, allegedly for breaching the regulations that govern orchestra bars.

The police claimed that the establishment was operating beyond the legally permitted hours and was not adhering to the specific regulations established for orchestra bars. Furthermore, several bar girls were reportedly rescued during the enforcement action.

Details of the Raid and Arrests

The police raid on the Samudra Orchestra Bar took place around midnight on June 9, 2026. Following the operation, those detained included a significant number of customers, in addition to the bar’s staff. Local law enforcement alleged that the bar was not only violating operational hours but also flouting rules designed to govern its activities.

In contrast, the eight staff members of the bar remain in custody as investigations continue. The police are set to present them again before the court, seeking further custody for the staff members in relation to the alleged offences. Authorities are working to determine the extent of any regulatory breaches concerning the bar’s operations.

Ongoing Investigations and Legal Proceedings

The judicial decision to release the customers marks a critical moment in the legal proceedings surrounding the bar raid. The court’s directive indicates concern regarding the enforcement of laws and the treatment of individuals at entertainment venues during such operations.

Several layers of inquiry are now in progress as the police investigate additional details about the orchestration of the raid and compliance of the bar with local regulations. The focus remains on understanding the operational practices of the establishment and the welfare of all individuals involved.

As investigations unfold, it is anticipated that further information regarding the bar’s adherence to regulations and treatment of patrons will be disclosed, potentially influencing future regulatory approaches by the authorities in the region.
