CBSE Begins Class 12 Re-Evaluation Process for 2026 Board Exams Today

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially launched the re-evaluation and verification process for Class 12 students on this date. This initiative allows candidates to request a review of their marks, apply for re-evaluation, and obtain scanned copies of their graded answer sheets through the official CBSE portal. Applications for re-evaluation will be accepted starting today, with the processing of these requests set to begin on May 22.

Students wishing to engage in the post-result review process will be able to access their rechecked answer sheets from May 26 to May 29. This phased rollout is aimed at providing students with the opportunity to scrutinise their evaluated scripts and to request corrections should they discover any discrepancies after the announcement of the results for Class 12.

Eligibility and Application Process for Re-Evaluation

Only students who participated in the CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2026 and are dissatisfied with their results are eligible to apply for this process. This facility is available for candidates looking to verify the evaluation of their answer sheets, check for any inconsistencies in marking, or specifically seek the re-evaluation of certain answers.

The initial step for students is to apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books. Once they have reviewed the materials carefully, they can then decide to proceed with either mark verification or re-evaluation if deemed necessary.

To apply for re-evaluation, students must first visit the official CBSE website and navigate to the post-result activities section. They would then need to apply for the scanned copies, review them, and follow through with verification or re-evaluation. The application process also involves paying the requisite fees online.

Revised Fee Structure for 2026 Re-Evaluation

This year, the CBSE has introduced a significantly reduced fee structure for the re-evaluation process. Previously, students were required to pay Rs 700 to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books. Under the new structure, this fee has been lowered to Rs 100 per answer book.

Additionally, the cost for re-evaluation has also been revised from Rs 100 per question to Rs 25 per question. This reduction in fees aims to make the re-evaluation process more accessible to students who wish to contest their results.

Students are advised to complete their applications within the specified timeline, as the application window is limited. The board’s shift towards a digital process aligns with its objective of enhancing accessibility and streamlining the re-evaluation mechanism for students who seek to review their examination results.
