Bumble Date Ends in Rejection, Woman Appears at Man’s Door With Note

The CSR Journal Magazine

A man’s unsettling incident following the rejection of a woman he met on a dating app has gained considerable attention on social media. The 28-year-old, who posted on Reddit’s Bumble community, recounted how the woman unexpectedly visited his residence and left a handwritten note at his doorstep. This bizarre sequence began when the man matched with a 30-year-old woman named Ruth on Bumble, where they connected over mutual interests including fitness and movies.

After agreeing to meet, they went out for coffee and later had a workout session at his gym. While the date appeared to progress positively at first, certain revelations during their conversation led him to reconsider their potential relationship. He discovered that Ruth had used a different name on her profile due to difficulties with English and had provided her middle name instead. Additionally, he was surprised to notice images of a child on her phone, which prompted her to confess that she had a son and had recently separated after an eight-year marriage.

Rejection and Subsequent Communications

After their evening together, Ruth suggested a second date at a Cuban restaurant for drinks and dancing, which the man declined. Upon returning home, he sent her a text to politely end further communications, stating that while he enjoyed meeting her, he felt no connection. However, his thoughtful message did not deter Ruth from seeking clarification. Allegedly, she bombarded him with numerous messages and around ten calls that same night, despite him requesting her to cease contact.

The situation seemingly escalated when he started receiving missed calls from different numbers the following day, totalling around twenty, alongside voicemails supposedly left by Ruth, demanding that he return her calls. This barrage of communication left him feeling harassed, prompting him to block her number. However, this did not effectively resolve the situation.

The man’s experience took a more alarming turn when he was awakened on a Saturday morning by his mother, who informed him that a woman was outside their house inquiring about him. He quickly realised it was Ruth, who managed to track down his address and was looking to speak with him. His mother assured her that he was not present at home, but Ruth left a note on the doorstep before departing.

The Handwritten Note and Aftermath

The note left behind by Ruth expressed her frustration and confusion regarding their situation. She wrote, “This is Ruth. I don’t know if you ever will read this but at least I tried to do. I’m not walking out with me not trying. I did my best to reach you even asking my friends to get your info. I’m not a stalker. I’ll not come back here, don’t worry. I only needed 3 things: Explanation, clear all confusion and a bit comfy with myself.”

The man described the entire incident as deeply unsettling and expressed concerns for his personal safety. He is reportedly considering contacting law enforcement or seeking a restraining order in light of Ruth’s unexpected actions. He added to his post that he feels alarmed and threatened by the incident.

The Reddit post has generated responses from numerous users, many of whom advise prioritising safety and documenting all evidence. Some highlighted the critical need to be cautious about sharing personal information while engaging with others through dating apps to prevent similar situations from arising.
