Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey has articulated a firm warning regarding the protests led by aspirants of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) in Ranchi. Dubey stated that should the state government fail to address the issues related to recruitment and allegations of paper leaks by 13 August, he will seek approval from his party to undertake a hunger strike. This announcement highlights the escalating tensions surrounding the recruitment controversies.

The protests have arisen from allegations of corruption, irregularities, and significant delays in the examination processes conducted by the JPSC and JSSC. These issues have drawn considerable political attention, prompting calls for immediate action to ensure transparency and fairness in recruitment practices.

Dubey emphasised the urgency of the situation, noting that “Parliament is in session until the 13th.” He insisted on the necessity of a decision prior to that date, and mentioned that he has formally requested permission from the party president to proceed with a hunger strike if there is no resolution.

Demands from Protesting Aspirants

The protesting aspirants are advocating for substantial reforms within the recruitment system, including fair investigations into the alleged irregularities. The pressure on the state government is mounting as various political figures echo the demands for accountability and transparency, suggesting that the agitation could intensify if their concerns are not adequately addressed.

Dubey also directed sharp criticism towards the Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), claiming that the youth of the state have been subjected to severe hardships as a result of the alleged misconduct in recruitment processes. He highlighted the need for a thorough review of appointments made in the last seven to eight years and questioned whether job opportunities had favoured relatives of politicians from these parties during that time.

<h4″The issue is not solely about Rahul Gandhi,” Dubey stated. “It is essential for him to disclose how many relatives of Congress leaders, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders, and RJD leaders have secured jobs in recent years.” His comments reflect a broader concern regarding nepotism and fairness in governmental hiring practices.

Allegations of Corruption and Political Influence

Dubey further elaborated on the alleged financial irregularities linked to Abhay Tiwari, whom he referred to as a central figure in the controversies. He claimed that Tiwari had confessed to collecting funds from individuals, which were then allegedly distributed among members and the chairman involved in the recruitment processes.

He expressed concern over the potential scale of corruption, questioning the extent to which families might have sacrificed their assets in pursuit of jobs. “How many mothers have sold their jewellery? How many fathers have sold their land?” he asked rhetorically, calling for a list of all the injustices faced by aspirants in this context.

Additionally, Dubey accused the Congress, JMM, and RJD of neglecting the youth over the years and alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s agenda may be influenced by external pressures, specifically mentioning George Soros as an alleged orchestrator behind Gandhi’s statements and actions.

Support from Independent MP Pappu Yadav

In a show of solidarity with the protesting students, Independent MP Pappu Yadav voiced his support for their right to express their concerns. He stated that they should be able to approach Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s residence without restrictions. According to Yadav, CM Soren had reassured the students, urging them to return home peacefully while acknowledging their right to demonstrate.
