The overflowing river has submerged several temples along the banks, illustrating the significant rise in water levels. M K Jain, the Home Guards District Commander in Vidisha, confirmed that the situation is being closely monitored by their teams, who are prepared to act wherever needed.

In light of the adverse weather conditions, the Bhopal district administration has decided to declare a holiday for students in government, private, and aided schools across all levels, from Nursery to Class 12.

This decision, communicated on August 11 by the District Education Officer under the guidance of the Collector, reflects the challenges posed by excessive rainfall in the district. However, the administration has mandated that teachers and school staff report to work during these hours to ensure that educational operations remain supported and organised during this period of disruption.
