Bareilly Police Confirms Viral Video of Man Flung in Air During Storm, Says “Dramatic Effect” Added

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Bareilly Police have verified an incident where a man was reportedly lifted into the air by strong winds during a storm, following widespread circulation of a viral video. This confirmation came from Bareilly Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nitin Kumar, who noted that the video had been altered to enhance its dramatic impact.

The individual involved has been identified as Nanhe Mian, a resident of Babiyana village in the Bhamora police station area. DSP Kumar explained that the video depicts Nanhe being thrown into the air alongside a dislodged tin sheet during a severe windstorm.

According to the police official, the incident occurred on May 13, when the wind speed caused a tin sheet fixed to Nanhe’s home to detach. The force from the wind resulted in a sudden transfer of momentum, propelling the sheet away from the house, and consequently affecting Nanhe, who was leaning against its support pole.

Details of the Incident

During the storm, Nanhe Mian, a labourer, reported that he was engaged in work alongside four other individuals when the weather quickly turned hazardous. He indicated that they were in the process of securing a tin structure when the extreme winds caused chaos. He recalled attempting to hold the structure down as the storm intensified.

Speaking to ANI on Thursday, Nanhe described the moment he was swept away: “I held on until my grip slipped. After that, everything was a blur.” He indicated that he was thrown approximately 80 feet and landed in a maize field filled with water.

Nanhe detailed how he became trapped in the muddy field until a bystander, who witnessed the event from a distance, rushed to his aid. The individual reportedly assisted him by carrying him onto his motorcycle to seek medical attention.

Current Condition and Call for Assistance

Following the incident, Nanhe underwent a medical examination, which revealed a fractured arm that necessitated a plaster cast. Despite his injuries, he has been otherwise reported in stable health. He is, however, appealing for aid, as he noted that no official assistance has been rendered to him since the accident.

Nanhe expressed concern about his family’s welfare, mentioning that he is the sole earner and has young children to care for. “I am in distress and unable to work until my injuries heal,” he stated, while requesting governmental support to help sustain his family during his recovery.

Uttar Pradesh has been grappling with severe weather conditions, leading to fatalities across the state. Relief Commissioner Harikesh Bhaskar reported that at least 104 people have died due to the relentless rain, lightning, and storms affecting various regions.
