The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is conducting widespread protests throughout Andhra Pradesh, aimed at demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into alleged irregularities in the DSC recruitment process. On August 10, National Spokesperson Karthik Yellapragada stated that the demonstrations are peaceful in nature, emphasising the urgency for an impartial inquiry.

Yellapragada highlighted that the government is reportedly failing to address the worries of DSC aspirants and is instead opting for police action to suppress their voice. He reiterated that YSRCP would persist with its protests until the demand for a thorough CBI investigation is wholeheartedly considered.

In a recorded statement, he also mentioned that numerous party leaders and activists have faced obstruction, detention, and restriction from participating in these peaceful actions. According to Yellapragada, these measures raise significant questions regarding the government’s intentions.

Government’s Alleged Use of Police Force

Yellapragada accused the Andhra Pradesh government of employing police resources to obstruct YSRCP leaders and supporters from voicing their demands. He questioned, “What is the government really afraid of? Why take steps to block political representatives and activists who are advocating for justice on behalf of unemployed youth?”

The spokesperson asserted that the right to peaceful protest is a fundamental democratic privilege. He maintained that deploying police force to silence dissent would not eliminate the concerns surrounding the DSC recruitment issues.

Additionally, he condemned the government’s actions as excessively aggressive and an attempt to intimidate YSRCP workers. Yellapragada emphasised that regardless of police barricades and detentions, the party’s commitment to fighting for justice will not wane.

Continuing the Demand for Accountability

Yellapragada expressed that the government must remain accountable for its actions. He reaffirmed YSRCP’s stance on demanding an impartial CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the DSC recruitment process, insisting that the quest for justice is far from over.

The spokesperson concluded by stating, “Until justice is accomplished, our democratic struggle will continue indefinitely.” The ongoing protests reflect a significant political movement within the state, underscoring the party’s resolve to stand with the DSC aspirants.
