The CSR Journal Magazine

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the initiation of numerous development projects in Pilibhit, emphasising the state’s commitment to enhancing public welfare. On Monday, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for sixty-six projects valued at over Rs 569 crore in the Barkhera and Bisalpur Assembly constituencies. This move is expected to propel the state’s agenda for development and good governance.

Adityanath’s engagement in Moradabad further underscored this commitment, where he launched sixty-three projects exceeding Rs 365 crore across the Moradabad Nagar, Moradabad Dehat, and Kundarki Assembly constituencies. The developments also include initiatives from the Municipal Corporation and Moradabad Development Authority, contributing to the overall infrastructural landscape in the region.

The Chief Minister’s reviews preceding these inaugurations focused on the ongoing development works within the Agra Division. He mandated adherence to quality standards in all infrastructure projects during a high-level meeting at the Divisional Commissioner’s auditorium.

Quality Assurance and Accountability in Development

During his meeting, Adityanath made it clear that deficiencies in development efforts would not be tolerated. He insisted that projects related to water supply, roads, sewerage, and urban beautification in Agra should meet metro city standards. His remarks reinforced the importance of high-quality workmanship and accountability in the execution of projects.

In addressing concerns related to rural infrastructure, he instructed officials to halt the movement of heavy vehicles on rural roads, directing that repair costs should be recouped from vehicle owners responsible for damage. His emphasis on rectifying poor road restorations, particularly those affected by the Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT Scheme, highlighted the necessity for stringent oversight.

Furthermore, Adityanath indicated that engineers and contractors would be directly held accountable for any substandard work, outlining that legal actions, including FIRs, would be pursued against those responsible for inadequate construction.

Legal and Environmental Concerns in Development

The Chief Minister also tackled legal obstacles impacting the expansion of Agra Airport and related construction projects. He recognised the pending cases before the National Green Tribunal and the Supreme Court as hindrances to progress and urged officials to formulate a strategy to expedite these issues.

To aid this, Adityanath instructed the creation of a panel of senior advocates to represent the government’s interests effectively in court. Additionally, where infrastructure projects threaten existing trees, he called for alternative routes that preserve these natural assets.

Another significant concern raised by Adityanath was illegal mining activities along the state borders with Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. He urged officials to enhance monitoring and collaborate with neighbouring states to address these challenges. Moreover, he discussed measures to manage stray cattle to safeguard farmers’ crops, thereby supporting agricultural productivity.

Public representatives during the meeting highlighted critical infrastructure needs, including a bypass over the Yamuna and enhancements to address waterlogging issues. Adityanath responded positively, directing the inclusion of these proposals in upcoming development plans.

In line with ongoing initiatives, plans to reconstruct the Govardhan Parikrama Marg using modern technologies were approved, aimed at improving facilities for pilgrims. Additionally, beneficiaries of various public welfare schemes are set to receive certificates on the occasion of Vyapari Kalyan Diwas, marking the birth anniversary of philanthropist Bhamashah.

As the Chief Minister concluded his address, he extended heartfelt congratulations to the residents of Pilibhit and Moradabad, reaffirming his government’s commitment to advancing public welfare and infrastructure development in the state.
