Uttar Pradesh Man Arrested For Allegedly Murdering Wife Over Affair Dispute

The CSR Journal Magazine

A man from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has been taken into custody for allegedly killing his wife, Kausar, by slitting her throat with a paper cutter. The authorities reported this incident on Saturday, following the shocking discovery of Kausar’s body on 2nd May 2026, at approximately 8 am. She was found dead in a pool of blood inside their home in the Lisari Gate area, leading investigators to initially suspect an external attacker.

Details of the Alleged Crime

According to police reports, Saqib, the husband of the deceased, allegedly committed the act after Kausar voiced her objections to his purported extramarital affair. Officials disclosed that the couple had a history of disputes related to this matter, which ultimately escalated to the tragic occurrence. At the time of the incident, their three young daughters were present in the house.

After the murder, Saqib reportedly attempted to mislead authorities by presenting a narrative of a theft gone wrong. He allegedly instructed one of his daughters to inform the police that robbers had invaded their home and murdered their mother. This fabricated story was meant to cover up his involvement in the crime.

Following the initial reports, police scrutinised Saqib’s statements, which were marked by inconsistencies. During the questioning, he reportedly provided varying accounts of the events leading up to the murder. As investigators collected evidence and continued their interrogation, Saqib ultimately confessed to the crime, revealing the murder weapon’s location.

Investigation and Arrest

Saqib allegedly confessed to slitting Kausar’s throat while she was asleep, using a paper cutter to carry out the act. Meerut Superintendent of Police City, Vinayak Gopal Bhosale, confirmed the details surrounding the arrest, emphasising the thoroughness of the investigation process.

Furthermore, authorities indicated that Saqib had a history of attempting to control his wife, reportedly pressuring her into ending her own life on previous occasions. This pattern of behaviour might have contributed to the volatile situation that led to Kausar’s death. The incident has raised serious questions about the welfare of the couple’s three daughters, who are now left without either parent.

Saqib is known to work as a mobile tower installer during the day and drives a rickshaw at a local market at night to support his family. Regrettably, his actions have resulted in not only the loss of his wife but also the uncertainty of their children’s future care and upbringing.

Community Response

The murder has sent shockwaves throughout the community, highlighting broader social issues related to domestic disputes, particularly surrounding issues of infidelity and control in marriages. Local residents have expressed concern for the three young girls who now face an uncertain future. Discussions have emerged around potential avenues for supporting the orphaned children as they navigate life without both parents.

Authorities are now seeking to ensure that the children receive adequate care and support in the wake of this tragic event. The social services are being alerted to assess their needs and provide the necessary assistance. As this situation continues to unfold, it serves as a reminder of the urgent need for community awareness and intervention in domestic matters.

With the investigation ongoing, the community remains watchful for further developments in this case, hoping for justice for Kausar and a safe future for her daughters.
