A class teacher at a play school in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, has been accused of burning a five-year-old boy’s private parts with a heated knife after the child wet his pants in class. The police have registered an FIR based on a complaint filed by the boy’s father and have launched an investigation into the incident.

The child, a student at Serene Sony Play School and the son of an advocate, had asked his teacher for permission to use the washroom on 24 July. When the request was denied, he lost control and urinated in his pants, following which the teacher allegedly subjected him to physical abuse.

What The Complaint Alleges

According to the complaint filed by the boy’s father, the teacher dragged the child to another room after he wet himself. She is alleged to have turned on a gas stove, heated a knife until it was red-hot, and used it to burn the child’s private parts.

The complaint further states that the teacher physically assaulted the boy and warned him against telling anyone about the incident or repeating the mistake, threatening him with dire consequences if he did.

The child returned home visibly terrified and recounted the ordeal to his parents in tears, prompting them to seek an explanation from the school.

School’s Response And Alleged Threats

The boy’s parents said they tried to reach the class teacher after learning of the incident, but she did not respond to their calls. When they subsequently approached the school principal, Hemlata Singh, they alleged that she threatened them instead of cooperating.

The following day, the father visited the school in person seeking assistance, but the principal and the school manager reportedly refused to address the matter or offer any help.

Police Investigation Underway

Given the trauma and physical injuries suffered by the child, his father approached the police, who registered an FIR without delay. Senior police officer Atul Singh confirmed that a case had been registered based on the complaint submitted by the child’s father.

Singh added that the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and that further legal action would be taken soon. Authorities have not yet released additional details on the status of the accused teacher or the school administration.
