A tragic incident in Ambach village, located in Gujarat’s Navsari district, resulted in a man allegedly killing his son and injuring his wife during a family argument. The accused, identified as Nilesh Patel, reportedly fled the scene after the violent altercation, which also involved an elderly family member. Local police authorities apprehended him within hours of the incident, according to officials.

Details of the Altercation and Attack

According to reports, the incident occurred on the night of August 16, 2026. Nilesh Patel, who operates a chicken centre in the locality, had been involved in frequent disputes with his family members. On the evening in question, Nilesh allegedly called his wife, Parulben, to join him at his shop. However, she declined the invitation as her grandson was asleep at home.

Upon returning home, Nilesh reportedly engaged in an argument with Parulben and subsequently pushed her to the ground. Their son, Suraj, intervened during the confrontation, urging his father to stop the daily quarrels. In a sudden escalation of violence, Nilesh allegedly grabbed Suraj by the throat, forced him into a room, and fatally stabbed him in the lower chest.

As Parulben attempted to protect their son, she was also reportedly attacked by Nilesh, leading to injuries. The elderly father, Chimanbhai, was allegedly stabbed multiple times in the chaos before Nilesh fled the location.

Medical Response and Victim Status

Following the commotion, villagers and the village head quickly rushed the wounded individuals to Rumla Government Hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, Suraj was pronounced dead upon arrival. The injuries sustained by Parulben and Chimanbhai necessitated further treatment, leading them to be transferred to Chikhli Referral Hospital.

In light of the situation, Bharatiben, the injured wife, filed a formal complaint with the police, prompting an investigation into the incident. Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhagirathsinh Gohil confirmed that a fight had erupted between the couple during which Nilesh allegedly stabbed his wife in the stomach. The DySP reported that Suraj was also fatally injured when he attempted to intervene.

Authorities acted swiftly in apprehending Nilesh Patel, who had allegedly escaped following the violence. Police Inspector Praveen Patelia, assigned to the Chikhli Police Station, is leading the investigation into this tragic case.
