The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson, Ashutosh Ranka, has announced plans to visit the family of Abdul Mafik, who was allegedly killed following an attack linked to a political conflict. Ranka’s announcement comes in the wake of ongoing controversy surrounding the incident, with claims made that the attack was orchestrated by members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The incident reportedly occurred on August 13 when Abdul Hafiz, a CJP volunteer and son of the deceased, was assaulted by unidentified assailants after meeting with the headmaster of the Karishunda Paschimpara Primary School in Bankura, West Bengal. In a desperate attempt to save his son, Mafik intervened, which allegedly resulted in both father and son sustaining serious injuries.

Ranka’s comments suggest that he believes the incident is part of a broader pattern of violence against individuals supporting educational reforms. He recounted that Hafiz was involved in an ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar, advocating for better educational conditions in his locality. Ranka’s remarks highlight his perspective that the BJP’s alleged actions are hindering progress in the education sector.
