A one-and-a-half-year-old boy was reportedly killed in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, by a man who allegedly wished to marry the child’s mother. The accused is believed to have acted out of a desire to eliminate what he saw as an obstacle to his relationship. The shocking incident has drawn attention due to a CCTV footage that captures the alleged crime.

The video shows the accused, identified as Viraj, carrying the toddler, Aarav, in an empty lane adjacent to the residence of the child’s relatives. It further depicts Viraj throwing Aarav onto the ground several times, after which the child remains motionless.

Details of the Attack Emerges

According to police sources, Aarav was declared dead shortly after being rushed to a nearby hospital. The child was the son of Rati, the mother, who was previously married to Sumit. Allegations suggest that Viraj developed an infatuation with Rati and envisaged a future together, feeling that Aarav was a hindrance to this plan.

On Friday, May 29, 2026, Rati visited her aunt’s home after coming from her parental residence. Reportedly, Viraj learned about her whereabouts and went to the house. He is accused of luring Aarav with a false promise of buying him a toffee before allegedly attacking him on the street, leading to severe injuries.

Upon discovering the incident, family members immediately transported the child to the hospital. Unfortunately, medical personnel pronounced him dead upon arrival, heightening the distress of the family and community.

Police officials arrived at the scene shortly after receiving notification of the incident. They secured the child’s body and arranged for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. The authorities have initiated a manhunt for Viraj, who fled the scene of the crime.
