Trump Shares AI-Generated Eagle Image to Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary1

The CSR Journal Magazine

Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, recently unveiled an AI-generated image depicting a “golden gift” to the White House as part of celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the nation. The announcement was made via his Truth Social account, where he stated, “A Golden Gift to the White House for its 250th Birthday Year!”

The image features a bald eagle with wings extended over the columns of the White House balcony, accompanied by a stars and stripes shield. This portrayal was subsequently reshared by the official White House account on X, indicating a level of acceptance of Trump’s artistic contribution.

However, some scrutiny has emerged regarding the authenticity of the image. According to reports, comparisons to the actual Truman Balcony reveal discrepancies, particularly in the architectural details. Notably, the shield depicted contains eleven stars instead of the thirteen that represent the original colonies established at the nation’s inception.

Photographer’s Response to the AI Image

Following Trump’s post, freelance photographer Andrew Leyden shared his own images of the balcony taken at 9:30 PM the same evening. These images did not feature the eagle, further casting doubt on the AI-generated portrayal. Leyden’s observations were reported by CNN, which also highlighted the metadata of the image indicating its origins from Google AI.

In previous celebrations of America’s anniversary, Trump introduced a newly designed American travel document. This limited-edition passport showcases an artistic version of himself, alongside historical imagery, to commemorate the occasion. The announcement for the passport was made on Truth Social shortly before the eagle image was released.

The template featured a prominent depiction of Trump over the Resolute Desk, incorporating text from the Declaration of Independence, with his signature prominently displayed at the bottom. A facing page showcases John Trumbull’s famous painting, “The Declaration of Independence.” This design represents a departure from earlier passport mock-ups from the US Department of State, which contained a different illustrative style of the President.

Limited-Edition Passport Announcement

The White House officially shared the new passport design on X as well, specifying, “New U.S. Passport to Commemorate America’s 250th.” The limited-edition passport was initially announced in April as part of broader nationwide events celebrating the anniversary.

This commemorative document has been described by authorities as a unique version featuring custom artwork and enhanced images on its covers. An official mentioned that it will be the default passport issued from the Washington Passport Agency for in-person renewals once available.

It was further explained that existing passport designs will remain in place for online renewals and at other locations. The current standard passport features artwork by Percy Moran depicting Francis Scott Key, inspired by the events surrounding the writing of the national anthem. The anthem’s lyrics are also included on the interior front cover, connecting the new passport design to the historical narrative of the United States.
