A series of violent events in the New Usmanpur area of northeast Delhi has resulted in heightened concerns over public safety, with two homicides and a shooting occurring within a single day. Authorities have initiated investigations into all three incidents, noting that raids are ongoing to apprehend those responsible. The reported cases involve the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy, a shooting involving a 12-year-old boy, and the recovery of a deceased 26-year-old man who had also suffered stab wounds.

Murders and Arrests

The first incident transpired on the evening of June 1 at approximately 10.25 pm, when a 17-year-old boy was allegedly killed in a stabbing attack. Upon arrival at the scene, police found the teenager with severe wounds and promptly transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical professionals. A forensic team subsequently examined the site to gather evidence, leading to the registration of a murder case. Investigators are scrutinising CCTV footage from the vicinity and are interviewing residents to piece together the circumstances surrounding the death.

In a separate incident on the same evening, assailants reportedly opened fire in the Fourth Pushta locality of New Usmanpur. A 12-year-old boy, who happened to be passing through the area, sustained a bullet wound to his leg during the incident. Police have confirmed the arrest of two individuals in connection with this shooting, while another suspect remains at large. The police are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the third suspect involved.

The violence escalated into the early hours of June 2, when authorities discovered the body of a 26-year-old man named Lalit in Bhagat Singh Colony. Lalit was identified as a resident of Brahmpuri, and upon police arrival, he was found unresponsive on the road. Preliminary investigations reveal that he bore stab injuries, leading officials to suspect foul play. A forensic unit was deployed to the scene to gather further evidence, and a murder case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Multiple teams have since been assembled to identify and apprehend the attackers.

Ongoing Investigations and Community Response

Authorities have stated that investigations into the three violent incidents are progressing, with detectives ensuring that CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and local tips are being thoroughly investigated. The police have emphasised the importance of community cooperation and are appealing to residents for any additional information that might assist in resolving these cases. As the situation continues to unfold, officials remain focused on restoring order and addressing public safety concerns in the area.

During this time, police have underscored the need for increased vigilance among residents and have implemented additional patrols in New Usmanpur in response to the alarming occurrences. Local leaders are also urging community members to remain calm and to assist law enforcement efforts in enhancing safety measures. The combination of heightened police presence and community awareness aims to provide reassurance to the residents while effectively pursuing justice for the victims.
