Telangana Opens Applications For Free Residential UPSC Coaching, Offers Monthly Stipend

The Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Department has invited applications for its free residential coaching programme for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2027. The programme will be conducted by the Telangana BC Employability Skill Development and Training Centre (TGBCESDTC) at the TG BC Study Circle in Saidabad, Hyderabad.

Eligible graduates can apply online through the official website from July 17 to August 7, 2026.

Screening Test To Select Majority Of Candidates

The coaching programme will run from August 24, 2026, until May 2027 and will have an intake of 150 candidates.

Of the total seats, 100 candidates will be selected through an online screening test.

The remaining 50 seats have been reserved for candidates who have already qualified for the UPSC Civil Services Examination Preliminary stage.

Such candidates will be admitted directly without appearing for the screening test, provided they satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria.

Selected Candidates To Receive Stipend And Book Grant

According to the notification, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000, subject to attendance requirements.

They will also be provided with a one-time book grant of Rs 5,000, access to the study circle library and guidance from experienced faculty members.

The coaching programme will include regular subject-wise tests, performance assessments and feedback sessions to prepare candidates for both the UPSC Preliminary and Main examinations.

Eligibility Criteria For Applicants

Applicants must hold a graduate degree from a recognised university and meet the eligibility requirements for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2027.

The annual family income should not exceed Rs 1.5 lakh for applicants from rural areas and Rs 2 lakh for those from urban areas.

Candidates must also be unemployed, should not be enrolled in any other course and must not have previously availed themselves of a similar government-sponsored coaching programme.
