Sukma Horror: Two Arrested After Minor’s Pregnancy Exposes Alleged Rape

The CSR Journal Magazine

Two individuals were apprehended in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, for allegedly committing rape against a minor girl. This incident came to light when the victim’s family discovered that she was pregnant. The accused have been identified as Madkam Hinga, also known as Madkam Arjun, and Rahul Sodi, who is referred to as Rupesh Sodi. The police have initiated proceedings against the accused under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Victim’s Testimony Accuses Both Men

The minor has claimed that both men lured her with false promises of marriage, leading to the alleged assaults. She reported that she had been raped on separate occasions by each of the men, who did not know each other prior to this incident. The revelation of her pregnancy was particularly alarming, as it initiated a series of events that would expose the alleged crimes.

The pregnancy was uncovered after the girl started experiencing severe abdominal pain. Her condition necessitated a visit to a local hospital, where medical tests confirmed that she was two months pregnant. This shocking discovery prompted her family to interrogate her about the circumstances, ultimately leading her to disclose the details of her suffering.

On June 3, following the family’s shock and concern over the revelations, they reported the incident to the police. An FIR was filed later on the same day, triggering an immediate response from law enforcement authorities.

Legal Action and Police Investigation Underway

The police acted swiftly, registering a case and apprehending both suspects. Madkam Hinga and Rahul Sodi have been taken into custody and are currently remanded in judicial custody. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into all facets of the case to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the events leading up to the alleged crime.

Investigators face the challenge of determining which of the two accused, given their lack of prior acquaintance, was responsible for impregnating the minor. The police are interviewing potential witnesses and reviewing any available evidence in order to build a coherent narrative regarding the incidents.

The legal proceedings against the accused have drawn attention to the pressing issue of child safety and the importance of safeguarding minors from similar predicaments. The case highlights concerns about the vulnerability of young individuals and the need for rigorous protective measures in society.
