Ultratech Cement Reports 17% Year-on-Year Increase in Q1 Profit
Financial Performance Overview
Ultratech Cement shares rose by 1.35% to reach Rs 11,880 following the announcement of its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,599.28 crore, marking a 16.77% increase compared to Rs 2,225.90 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Revenue from operations for Ultratech Cement also saw significant growth, climbing 15.85% year-on-year to Rs 24,648 crore in Q1 FY27. This robust revenue growth was accompanied by a profit before tax (PBT) increase of 15.71%, resulting in a figure of Rs 3,480.43 crore for the quarter.
Operational Insights
In terms of operational performance, the profit before interest, depreciation, and tax (PBIDT) was reported at Rs 5,146 crore, reflecting a 12.09% increase from Rs 4,591 crore in Q1 FY26. This improvement highlights the company’s enhanced operational efficiency.
Domestic sales volumes reached 39.2 million tonnes during Q1 FY27, signifying a growth of 13.1% compared to 34.64 million tonnes recorded in Q1 FY26. The increase in sales volume is indicative of strong market demand for cement products.
Capacity Utilization and Manufacturing Growth
Ultratech Cement’s capacity utilization for the quarter stood at 81%, based on an installed domestic capacity of 200.1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The company’s operating EBITDA per tonne improved to Rs 1,214 from Rs 1,198 in the previous year, further emphasizing its commitment to cost discipline and operational efficiency.
During this quarter, Ultratech Cement also reinforced its manufacturing capabilities. This follows a significant milestone reached in April 2026, when the company surpassed the 200.1 MTPA mark for domestic grey cement capacity and achieved a total global cement capacity of 205.5 MTPA, including its international operations.
