The Punjab Police has successfully dismantled a terror module supported by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) by apprehending a significant operative in Jalandhar. This operation was a collaborative effort between the Counterintelligence unit in Jalandhar and the SBS Nagar Police, as announced by Senior Police Officer Gaurav Yadav on Monday. The authorities recovered an 86-P hand grenade from the suspect, which has reportedly thwarted a planned attack.

He stated that the police actions led to the neutralisation of a terrorist threat orchestrated by foreign handlers, thereby reinforcing the commitment to maintaining public safety in the region.

The initial investigation has revealed that the detained individual acquired the grenade from a Dead Letter Box (DLB) located near Adampur in Jalandhar. This operational technique assists in reducing the risks associated with direct contact between terrorists and their handlers.
