The CSR Journal Magazine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the recent electoral outcomes as a historic and unprecedented day for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This statement follows the party’s strong performance in the West Bengal assembly elections and the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victories in Assam and Puducherry. Addressing supporters at the party headquarters in New Delhi on May 4, Modi expressed that the results signify a profound trust in the politics of performance. He noted that the joy evident among citizens reflects the happiness he sees in BJP workers across the nation.

Modi stated, “Today is a historic day. It is unprecedented.” He highlighted that years of dedicated efforts have culminated in this success, fostering optimism among citizens and party workers alike. He reiterated the importance of trust in India’s democracy and the political landscape, linking these victories to the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’.

Recognition of Party Workers

The Prime Minister praised the dedication of BJP workers for their contributions to the party’s success, recognising it as a significant milestone. He also remarked that these elections were the first since Nitin Nabin took over as the BJP President. Modi acknowledged the guidance offered to party members during the campaign as instrumental to their achievements.

He expressed gratitude to the voters in Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, and also to the people of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In his speech, he stated, “I respectfully bow to the people of Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, and the people of Tamil Nadu and Keralam.” Modi extended heartfelt congratulations to millions of BJP workers, emphasising their tireless efforts which led to the party’s triumphs. He elaborated, “Every BJP worker, big or small, has once again performed wonders. They have made the lotus bloom.”

Moreover, he underscored the significant role that the newly appointed party president played throughout these elections, attributing their guidance as critical to the victory.

Positive Outcomes in By-Elections

In addition to the assembly elections, Modi characterised the results of recent by-elections as encouraging. He noted wins for BJP candidates in various states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Nagaland, and Tripura. The Prime Minister pointed out that these victories reflect the ongoing support from the electorate in these regions.

Highlighting the success in Maharashtra, he celebrated the landslide victory of NDA leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar. The Prime Minister’s remarks convey a sense of confidence about the future of the BJP and its alliance, reinforcing the party’s standing in several key states.

The counting of votes on this day included the assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. Modi’s acknowledgment of improved performance in Kerala indicates the party’s efforts to expand its influence in that region.
