A man walking along a road in Pathankot, Punjab, was reportedly the target of a robbery by two individuals riding a motorcycle. The incident occurred when the victim was en route to his home after visiting his shop, during which the assailants forcibly removed the key from his motorcycle before demanding his belongings. They allegedly made off with a mobile phone and cash amounting to Rs 5,000.

Following the robbery, the victim headed towards his aunt’s house, situated nearby. As he walked, he spotted the same motorcycle-borne robbers who had previously attacked him. This prompted him to take action against the perpetrators upon recognising them.

Victim Confronts Alleged Assailants

The victim described a tense encounter wherein he, having identified the attackers, seized a brick from the roadside and hurled it at them. The brick struck one of the robbers, leading to a fall from the motorcycle. This act initiated a physical confrontation between the man and the two alleged robbers.

During the ensuing scuffle, it was reported that the robbers brandished a datar, a sharp-edged weapon, in an attempt to flee the scene. Despite being threatened, the victim reportedly threw another brick at them, resulting in injuries to at least one of the assailants. However, the robbers managed to escape, taking advantage of the situation.

The entire altercation was captured on CCTV, with footage that has since circulated widely on social media platforms. The video has sparked discussions regarding public safety and robbery incidents in the area.

The case has highlighted the ongoing concerns regarding street crime in Pathankot, with community members urging for enhanced police presence and preventive measures. The police have responded by emphasising their commitment to ensuring safety and security within the community.
