NTA Extends Deadline For NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund Submission

The CSR Journal Magazine

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension for submitting bank account details pertinent to the NEET UG 2026 fee refund process. Candidates can now update their information on the official registration portal until June 22, 2026, with the submission period closing at 11:50 pm. This decision follows the NTA’s observation that a significant number of candidates had not completed the necessary steps for the refund process.

Previously, the bank detail submission facility was available to candidates from May 22 to May 27, 2026. The agency noted that approximately 13 lakh candidates had successfully updated their details within the initial timeframe, according to an official notice released on May 27, 2026.

Process for Candidates

Eligible candidates seeking a refund are required to log into the NEET UG 2026 portal using their unique application credentials. Upon accessing their dashboards, they should click on the refund link to initiate the process. It is vital that candidates input their bank account details accurately to facilitate smooth processing of refunds.

The NTA has introduced the option for candidates to upload a cancelled cheque, which can help to minimise errors when providing bank information. This additional step is optional, but it may enhance the reliability of the submitted details.

It is important for candidates to note that once the bank account details are submitted, these will be regarded as final. The NTA has clearly communicated that no changes will be allowed after the completion of this step.

Advisories for Candidates

The NTA has issued a crucial advisory encouraging candidates to fill in their details with utmost care. They are strongly advised not to leave the submission to the last minute, as the information will be irreversible once submitted. Candidates should thoroughly double-check account numbers, IFSC codes, and account holder names prior to submission, ensuring all details are accurate.

The extension of the deadline aims to assist candidates who may have faced technical issues or delays in arranging their bank details, allowing them additional time to complete the required process. This refund procedure holds significant importance for countless NEET UG aspirants nationwide, especially in light of recent concerns related to examination protocols and candidate grievances.

With the newly set deadline, candidates now have almost a month to finalise their submissions. It is advisable for students to frequently check the official NEET UG portal for any further updates or instructions regarding the refund process or associated counselling procedures.
