Protests by aspirants over alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examination entered their 12th day on Wednesday, with thousands of students continuing an indefinite sit-in at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi.

As the agitation gathered momentum, Opposition leaders intensified their attack on the Hemant Soren-led government, accusing it of ignoring the concerns of aspirants and failing to provide even basic facilities at the protest site.

Aspirants Continue Indefinite Protest

Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium has emerged as the focal point of the ongoing agitation, with thousands of JPSC aspirants demanding action over the alleged irregularities in the recruitment examination.

The protesters alleged that despite remaining at the site for nearly two weeks, they have been denied basic amenities, including drinking water, food and toilet facilities.

Students said they would continue the indefinite protest until their demands are addressed by the authorities.

Opposition Accuses Government of Insensitivity

Union Minister of State for Defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth criticised the state government over its handling of the protests, alleging that it had shown complete insensitivity towards the agitating students.

Seth claimed that no representative of the government had visited the protest site despite the demonstration entering its 12th day.

He also criticised the Opposition for remaining silent on the concerns raised by the aspirants.

Leaders Raise Questions Over Recruitment Process

Godda MP Nishikant Dubey also targeted the Hemant Soren government, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process.

Dubey claimed that examination seats had been sold and questioned the transparency of the JPSC recruitment process.

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda described the situation as a reflection of the government’s alleged indifference towards the state’s youth.

He said the movement for the rights of JPSC aspirants would not remain confined to Ranchi, indicating that the issue could gain wider public support.

Protest Continues Amid Paper Leak Allegations

The agitating students have reiterated allegations of irregularities, including claims of a question paper leak, and demanded a fair and transparent resolution.

They have also highlighted the lack of essential facilities at the protest site, saying the conditions have added to their hardship during the prolonged demonstration.

With the protest showing no signs of ending, attention is now focused on whether the Jharkhand government initiates talks with the aspirants or announces measures to address their demands.
