Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has publicly warned the central government about potential protests unless their demands are met. The leader specifically called out the government for not disbursing the promised Rs 1 crore compensation to the families of NEET-UG aspirants who reportedly died by suicide. Dipke’s remarks were made during an interview with ANI on August 3, 2026, in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

Dipke expressed confusion over the government’s reluctance to fulfil its commitments, questioning the rationale behind needing to review rules for providing aid when substantial sums are allegedly spent on other matters, such as securing political alliances. He emphasised the need for the government to act responsibly and fulfil its promise regarding compensation.

Furthermore, the CJP has outlined additional requests, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the withdrawal of FIRs against protesters involved in recent demonstrations. Dipke indicated that their protest at Jantar Mantar, which lasted 37 days, concluded only after assurances were given regarding these key demands.

Concerns Over New Appointment in Education Ministry

Dipke raised concerns regarding the appointment of Pralhad Joshi as the new Union Education Minister, following Pradhan’s resignation. He referenced Joshi’s previous activities, suggesting they were inappropriate for someone in such a significant educational role. According to Dipke, Joshi’s past actions may negatively influence how young female students perceive their educational environment.

The leader maintained his position regarding the demand for a new Minister, stating that their objectives were not fully realised with Joshi’s appointment. The CJP is now reconsidering its alliances and strategy in light of this leadership change.

Moreover, the CJP’s platform has expanded to encompass broader issues related to the treatment of protesters, suggesting that the selection of Joshi has broader implications for the party’s stance on education and student welfare in India.

Allegations of Police Misconduct During Protests

Dipke also addressed the events surrounding the protests, specifically mentioning an alleged attack on police officers that took place on July 20. He claimed there was a collaboration between certain individuals and the Delhi Police to undermine the CJP’s movement. Dipke expressed concern about the presence of numerous criminals at the protest site, claiming that their presence was part of a deliberate strategy to disrupt the demonstrations.

He pointed to an incident where Delhi Police reportedly positioned a truck of rocks near the protest site before stone-pelting incidents occurred the following day, suggesting that such actions indicated premeditated planning by law enforcement. Dipke demanded accountability from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, questioning how law enforcement could be so ineffective during such public gatherings.

The ongoing tensions have prompted opposing political factions to demand Shah’s response to these allegations in Parliament, further intensifying scrutiny on the government’s handling of protest situations. The implications of these protests and the associated challenges have become a focal point for several parties looking to address public dissatisfaction and the administration’s response to civil rights issues.
