JP Nadda, the Leader of the House, responded to Brittas’s allegations by asserting that Dev should also have an opportunity to respond to these claims. He clarified that while certain terms are used, such as “lungi,” they prefer the traditional term “dhoti.” This statement was made to reiterate the respect for regional attire within the parliamentary context.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju echoed the importance of maintaining the dignity of the House. He stated that all members hold equal status and must ensure that the decorum of the House is preserved. Rijiju suggested that since specific allegations were made against Dev, it is vital that she be allowed to present her perspective as well.

The ongoing exchange between the MPs has drawn attention to the need for maintaining decorum in parliamentary discussions. Rijiju’s comments were made amidst increasing scrutiny regarding the interactions between members during sessions.

The Hon’ble Members should be careful not to hurt the sentiments and feelings of fellow Members,” the Chairman articulated, stressing the significance of considerate communication within the House. He further highlighted the inclusive nature of Indian society, which accommodates diverse regional cultures.

The Chairman’s comments aimed at fostering a respectful environment where all regional identities are acknowledged and valued. He called the involved members to his chamber to discuss the matter privately, intending to mediate the situation and prevent further disturbances in the House’s functionality.
