JEE Main Session 2 Results Announced on April 20

The CSR Journal Magazine

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will unveil the results for JEE Main Session 2 on April 20. Candidates who participated in the examination will have the opportunity to retrieve their scorecards online once the results are published. This scorecard is essential as it will ascertain the candidates’ eligibility for JEE Advanced and admission into prestigious engineering institutions, including National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs).

To check their results, candidates must navigate to the official NTA JEE Main website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. They should select the link titled “JEE Main Session 2 Result 2026” and enter their application number along with their date of birth. Following these steps will allow them to download and securely save their scorecard. It is advisable to maintain login details readily available, as the website is anticipated to experience high volumes of traffic on the day of the results.

Contents of the JEE Main Scorecard

The JEE Main scorecard will provide critical information to candidates, including their name and roll number, subject-specific marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, the total National Testing Agency (NTA) score represented as a percentile, along with the All India Rank (AIR). Additionally, it will display the candidate’s category rank if applicable, and their qualification status for JEE Advanced. The implementation of a percentile system aims to ensure fairness and accuracy across different exam shifts.

While the official cut-offs will be made available concurrently with the results, preliminary estimations indicate potential cut-offs for various categories. For the general category, predictions range between 93 to 95 percentile, while the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) is anticipated to be between 81 to 85 percentile. The Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) may see cut-offs from 78 to 82 percentile, with Scheduled Castes (SC) estimated at 60 to 70 percentile, and Scheduled Tribes (ST) ranging from 45 to 55 percentile. These figures could fluctuate based on the examination’s overall difficulty and the number of candidates who took the test.

Previous year’s cut-offs provide a basis for expectations this year. For reference, the cut-offs for 2025 were as follows: General – 93.23 percentile, EWS – 81.32 percentile, OBC-NCL – 79.67 percentile, SC – 60.09 percentile, and ST – 46.62 percentile. It is important for candidates to be aware of these trends as they prepare for the results.

Post-Results Process for Candidates

After the JEE Main Session 2 results are revealed, candidates should focus on the subsequent processes. Those ranking within the top 2.5 lakh will qualify to sit for JEE Advanced 2026, which is a crucial step for gaining admission into esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). This marks the beginning of a critical phase for successful candidates.

The next stage will involve the counselling process managed through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Here, candidates will have the opportunity to select and secure seats in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other participating institutions based on their ranks and personal preferences. This stage is vital as seat allocations will occur over multiple rounds, underscoring its importance for final admissions to engineering colleges.

As candidates await the release of their results, they should actively prepare for the next steps in their academic journey, ensuring they are informed and ready for the forthcoming processes that will shape their future in engineering education.
