Jammu and Kashmir’s Imran Choudhary Gains International Recognition for AI Education Startup

The CSR Journal Magazine

Seventeen-year-old Imran Choudhary has placed the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on the global map through his innovative startup, Lagnever Technologies Private Limited. Despite growing up in an area with limited access to basic facilities and technological resources, Choudhary managed to turn his ardour for education and technology into a successful venture focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven learning.

The firm’s key offering, Lagnever AI, has reportedly surpassed 10,000 downloads since its launch. The platform aims to enhance educational accessibility and interactivity, making learning more personalised for its users. Lagnever AI includes features such as AI-assisted learning, personalised assistance, revision tools, quizzes, and academic guidance to complement conventional classroom education, rather than replace educators.

In just six months, Lagnever Technologies has achieved an estimated valuation of approximately Rs 5 crore, showcasing promising growth in India’s burgeoning EdTech landscape. With a team comprising 12 members, Choudhary highlighted the contributions of his Chief Marketing Officer, Mohib Altaf, during this rapid growth phase.

Team Dynamics and Challenges

Choudhary indicated that his team consists of several key personnel, including Anees Aziz, who serves as the Chief Operating Officer, and Sarfaraz Hussain, one of the company directors. Additionally, Arnab Balgotra manages social media, while Shoaib Kureshi is also part of the team. These individuals collectively contribute to the development and promotion of the AI-powered application.

Despite the company’s achievements, Mohib Altaf expressed concerns regarding the challenges faced in promoting their product. He emphasised the lack of awareness among potential users and the inadequate support from governmental bodies. Altaf pointed out that, although this is the first AI education app developed in Jammu and Kashmir, they have not received the necessary backing from state or central authorities.

Altaf is responsible for critical aspects of the business, including branding, marketing strategy, and community engagement. He has played a significant role in enhancing the startup’s public visibility and promoting the vision of AI-powered education, alongside founder Imran Choudhary.

Future Aspirations and Global Recognition

Choudhary’s achievements have been further acknowledged through his selection for an invite-only international programme associated with BlackRock. This initiative aims to gather 60 promising founders from around the world and will offer sessions in Bangalore over six months. Participants will engage in various events and travel internationally to tackle real-world challenges.

Imran spoke about the programme, stating that attendees will participate in problem-solving activities across different countries. This recognition underlines his leadership, innovation, and contributions to the future landscape of AI education, not only within India but also on a global scale.

Looking ahead, Lagnever Technologies envisions creating a comprehensive AI-supported educational ecosystem that allows students to access intelligent academic assistance anytime and anywhere. The startup plans to expand its learning features, enhance personalisation, and broaden its reach to more students both nationally and internationally.

Choudhary’s story is particularly inspiring given his background from Doongi, one of the remotest and border areas of Rajouri district, where access to technology is often limited. His journey illustrates that talent, determination, and innovation can lead to global recognition, serving as a beacon of inspiration for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
