Cursor, an emerging AI coding startup, has recently introduced its first subscription plan tailored for the Indian market, named Cursor Start. According to Aman Sanger, the founder, the user base in India has reportedly tripled over the last year, suggesting a growing demand for AI coding tools among local developers.

The Cursor Start plan is priced at Rs 649 per month, significantly lower than the standard Pro subscription cost of $20 (approximately Rs 1,700). This plan includes essential features such as access to Cursor Composer 2.5, Grok 4.5, cloud agents, and the iOS app, alongside various plugins. However, it is important to note that subscribers to Cursor Start will not have access to the premium tools available through the Pro subscription, such as the advanced AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic.

Cursor has clarified that this new offering is not intended to replace the existing Pro tier but is aimed at developers who require more than the basic functionalities provided by the free version.
