“Historic Victory for BJP in Bengal Result of Sacrifices, Struggles Of Countless Workers”: Amit Shah

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he termed a “historic win” in West Bengal, attributing this achievement to the sacrifices and efforts of the party’s dedicated workers. This declaration came as the BJP is poised to secure a majority in the state elections, reflecting the long-standing commitment of its grassroots members.

Shah highlighted that this electoral success is not just a victory at the polls but a tribute to the sacrifices made by countless BJP workers over the years, many of whom have faced violence and persecution. In a post shared on the platform X, he expressed his reverence for those enduring hardships without abandoning their principles, acknowledging their families as well.

According to Shah, the victory signifies a collective tribute from the citizens of Bengal to BJP workers who have faced extreme challenges. He asserted that the party’s success reflects the strength and resilience of its supporters who have remained steadfast in their ideological beliefs despite adversities.

BJP’s Commitment to Bengal’s Development

In a further elaboration on the party’s future plans, Shah indicated that the BJP is committed to reviving the cultural and historical significance of Bengal. He mentioned notable personalities associated with the region and promised to work tirelessly towards fulfilling the aspirations that the people have expressed through their electoral choice.

He remarked on the party’s intention to restore Bengal’s glory as a land synonymous with esteemed figures, including Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Swami Vivekananda, Kavi Guru Tagore, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Shah’s remarks emphasised a vision of developing ‘Sonar Bangla’, envisioned as a prosperous West Bengal.

Shah also commented on how the people of Bengal have sent a strong message against those perceived as infiltrators and political appeasers. He expressed confidence that the BJP would seek to address the hopes and dreams of the state’s residents as directed in the elections.

Opposition and Election Results Overview

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh echoed Shah’s sentiments, celebrating the results that appear to demonstrate a decisive victory for the BJP. He remarked on the establishment of what he termed ‘the rule of the people’ in West Bengal after a prolonged period of perceived misrule.

Singh accused the former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Left Front government of fostering an environment of anarchy. He claimed that the governance under the TMC had led to the intimidation of ordinary citizens by party workers, which he alleged stifled democratic expression.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) reported that the BJP is leading in 95 seats and has successfully won 111 out of 294 seats. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) reportedly leads on 37 seats and has won 44 seats thus far. As vote counting commenced at 8 am across multiple states, results began to emerge shortly after for critical elections held across regions including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry.

The counting process initiated with postal ballots, followed by the tabulation of votes from Electronic Voting Machines starting at 8:30 am. The Election Commission provided real-time updates of round-wise results through its official portal and ECINET platform, facilitating comprehensive access to the unfolding electoral outcomes.
