Austria Records Hottest July Temperature as Heatwave Damage Reaches EUR1.4 Billion

Austria has officially reported its highest July temperature on record, with readings reaching 40.3 degrees Celsius in Wieselburg, located in Lower Austria. This new benchmark surpasses the previous July record by 0.2 degrees, demonstrating the severity of current weather conditions. The records were notably exceeded in both Upper Austria and Lower Austria, alongside the former national record of 39.7 degrees Celsius, which was established in Carinthia on 27th July 1983.
