Himanshu Jangra Issues Apology Regarding Rs 370 Biryani Controversy

The CSR Journal Magazine

Himanshu Jangra, the individual at the centre of a controversy surrounding a Rs 370 biryani anecdote, has publicly expressed his regret for attending comedian Pranit More’s performance in Gurugram. In a video interaction released on Saturday by Starvik Design, he discussed the adverse effects this incident has had on him, his family, and his employment.

During the conversation with Vivek Vishwakarma, the founder of Starvik Design, Jangra reflected on the extensive trolling he faced on social media platforms over the last two weeks. He shared that initially, his family and friends were unaware of the situation until about a week later when a family member contacted him.

Jangra revealed that his uncle’s discovery of the incident led to increased scrutiny from neighbours, who subsequently informed his parents that he had made inappropriate comments. He stated that his parents summoned him home to discuss the matter after learning of the controversy.

Family Reaction and Consequences

Upon returning home, Jangra admitted to making a mistake, which resulted in his parents reprimanding him and providing counsel. He underscored that their response escalated when they became aware that he had lost his job as a consequence of the incident. Jangra expressed regret, stating, “Now when I see them I am filled with regret for going on the show.”

He indicated that the situation spiralled further when his parents learned of his dismissal, causing them significant stress and concern. This development weighed heavily on Jangra, who has been reflecting on his choices.

When queried about his comments during the show, he clarified that he had previously watched Pranit More’s performances, which contributed to his decision to participate in this particular event. He acknowledged that the story he presented was not entirely accurate and had been altered based on the nature of other participants’ narratives.

Apology and Clarification of Remarks

In his video, Jangra stated, “The story I spoke about, yes, I dated a girl for a while, but what I said there was not totally true. I improvised bits of it, seeing how the others were sharing their stories.” He accepted responsibility for his choice of words and extended an apology for the misunderstanding his comments may have caused.

He emphasised that he has always fostered positive professional relationships with female colleagues and reiterated that he did not intend to convey inappropriate sentiments during the show. His apology reflects a desire to reclaim his reputation following the backlash.

Starvik Design, through their post, mentioned the importance of context and clarity, clarifying that the conversation with Jangra was intended to provide insight into the ongoing discussion rather than endorsing any particular viewpoint. They urged viewers to refrain from harassing individuals related to the matter.

Pranit More’s Response to the Controversy

In a separate video statement, Pranit More referred to the incident as a lapse in judgement and acknowledged the backlash he has received online. He remarked, “I probably deserve this hate,” and recognised that he could have intervened to halt Jangra’s comments during the performance.

More apologised to those impacted by the incident and stated that he is cooperating with authorities regarding any potential legal ramifications. The controversy ignited following the circulation of a video from his stand-up performance, where Jangra’s comments led to widespread disapproval.

As the situation unfolds, the dialogue surrounding the incident continues, highlighting the significance of responsible content creation and audience reactions in the realm of entertainment.
