Four Die, Including Minor, After Fire Erupts at Illegal Firecracker Warehouse in Jaipur

In a tragic incident in the Kho Nagoriyan area of Jaipur, four killed, including a child, after a massive fire broke out in an illegal firecracker factory on Tuesday morning. The factory was located near a ITI College in the Ayesha Nagar Talai area.

Five patients with burn injuries admitted at SMS hospital

Jaipur Collector Sandeep Nayak shared that three people died on spot and another died while undergoing treatment. Until now, one of the deceased has been identified. The SMS (Sawai Man Singh) hospital’s principal Dr Deepak Maheshwari confirmed that today six people were brought, and one out of them was declared dead on arrival. “Today 5 injured patients were admitted at SMS hospital, all had 50 per cent or more burnt injuries, all in critical condition. Our doctors team is trying their best to save their lives.”

Dr Maheshwari confirmed that four patients have been identified and one is yet to be identified. The identified patients are 18-year-old Azeem Khan, 20-year-old Nasir Khan, 20-year-old Sameer Khan, and 22-year-old Bilal.

Illegal operation of firecracker warehouse

The warehouse was operational illegally, confirmed Jaipur police commissioner Sachin Mittal. “Action will be taken against its owner. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident will become clear after a thorough investigation,” Mittal noted. Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar said the three critically injured patients have been shifted to the Burn ICU and are undergoing treatment, “The three patients have suffered more than 50 per cent burns, and are in critical condition. As per the preliminary information, 10 more people have been injured, however they are yet to be brought for treatment,” Khimsar noted.

Politicians expressed grief

The former chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot expressed grief over the tragic incident, he said the incidents are deeply distressing and he extended condolences to the bereaved families. The firecracker warehouse incident happened less than four months after the illegal firecracker manufacturing unit in Bhiwadi’s Khushkhera-Karoli industrial area where 7 people were killed.
