With the increase in pollution levels, many people want to adopt sustainable living. Many have a misconception that living an eco-friendly life can be expensive and costly. But, the reality is that an eco-friendly life is achievable and not complicated.
Making sustainable living choices will not only improve the environment but also save a huge amount of money and improve quality of life. On this Earth Day, the CSR Journal has these practical, easily achievable ideas.

Easy to do techniques
1. Upgrade your lighting system
Simply switching from normally used incandescent bulbs to LED will be a simple yet important step that everyone can take. LEDs consume up to 75–90% less energy compared to the traditional incandescent bulbs. This is a win-win situation: good for the environment and it also reduces your electricity bill.
2. Keep a check on air leaks
When the air leaks are not checked, conditioned air can easily escape, leading to the outside air entry. If these gaps are checked and sealed, heating costs will decrease, and cooling costs will be reduced by 20%.
3. Select Energy efficient models
When selecting appliances, one must choose energy-efficient models to consume less energy and reduce utility bills.
4. Rainwater Harvesting structures
The dependency on the municipal supply water reduced to a great level if the rainwater is collected. It can be used for gardening, flushing toilets, or even cleaning. While a large system will help reduce the bill, even a barrel can be used for plants because it is chemical-free.
5. Landscaping based on the conditions
This approach is known as xeriscaping, helps in places where the condition is harsh and drought like situation. Using this approach helps minimize watering. Such plants are of low-maintenance, eco-friendly.
