Dharna Durga, a content creator turned actor, has stated that the reception of her Netflix film Maa Behen has exceeded her expectations. The 26-year-old actress expressed gratitude for the positive feedback related to her performance and shared insights about her collaboration with co-star Triptii Dimri during the filming process.
Collaboration with Triptii Dimri
Dharna elaborated on her time spent with Dimri, highlighting her as a vital support system on set. “Triptii and I had various discussions while filming. She really was one of my biggest sources of support during the shoot,” Durga noted. Previously an admirer of Dimri’s work, she found it special to share the screen with her. The young actor stated that she learned a great deal from observing Dimri’s disciplined and committed approach to acting.
Reflecting on her transition from creating content in her room to acting alongside prominent figures like Madhuri Dixit and Dimri, Dharna indicated that her outlook has shifted towards prioritising learning over validation. “Working with artists I respect has been an honour, and it has motivated me to keep evolving,” she explained, emphasising her appreciation for the audience’s love and support for the film.
And while she witnessed an overwhelming volume of encouraging reactions after the film’s release, she admitted that she had not anticipated such strong connections between the characters and the audience. “The scale of the response has been remarkably reassuring,” she added.
Audience Connections and Feedback
When asked about how the success of Maa Behen might affect her future roles, she maintained that it was still too early to tell. “Currently, I am just thrilled that people have connected with the film and its characters,” she said, acknowledging the messages and direct communications she continues to receive from viewers.
Released on June 4, 2026, on Netflix, Maa Behen features a talented cast including Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Dharna Durga, and Ravi Kishan. The film has received acclaim for its insightful examination of everyday sexism and the personal choices women navigate within restrictive societal contexts.
