Farasat informed the court that Yadav has been subjected to persistent threats and attacks, advocating for immediate interim security measures while the formal request for enhanced protection is considered. Representing the government, Central Government Standing Counsel Ashish Dixit acknowledged that existing safety measures were in place and assured that a decision regarding Yadav’s representation would be made promptly.

The court was made aware of serious incidents that contribute to Yadav’s concerns for his safety. His petition highlights a recent alleged attack at his official residence in New Delhi on August 2, coinciding with a press conference. This incident followed multiple threats, including a specific report from July 29, where a reward of ₹51 lakh was allegedly offered for harming him. The petition also mentions that movements outside the residence of his wife, who is also an MP, have led to confrontational slogans against Yadav.

Yadav’s legal representation noted that despite previous complaints regarding his safety, an attack at his residence occurred, where a knife was allegedly used. The incident reportedly resulted in injuries to his media convenor and two security personnel who intervened. The Delhi Police have since filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Tilak Marg Police Station related to this event.

In light of these serious incidents, Yadav is seeking an urgent reassessment of his threat perception and the extension of his security arrangements beyond Bihar, where he currently holds a Y+ security rating. His petition asserts that the situation surrounding his safety requires swift attention and action to prevent possible harm.
