CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Applications Now Open

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the application process for the Joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET) for June 2026. The registration commenced on May 27, 2026, and will close on June 19, 2026, at 11:50 pm. Candidates interested in applying can do so through the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in.

During the application period, applicants must fill out the online registration form, providing personal details, their mobile number, and a password. A correction window will be available from June 22 to June 23, 2026, to allow candidates to modify any inaccuracies in their applications.

The examination fee must be paid by June 20, 2026, at 11:50 pm. Payment options include credit cards, debit cards, net banking, and UPI. It is essential for candidates to ensure that they complete both the application and payment processes within the specified deadlines to be eligible for the exam.

Exam Schedule and Format

The CSIR UGC NET exam will take place on July 17 and July 18, 2026. It will be held in a computer-based test format and conducted in two shifts each day. The first shift is scheduled from 9 am to 12 noon, while the second shift will run from 3 pm to 6 pm. Each paper will last for 180 minutes and will be available in both English and Hindi.

With the testing conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the examination aims to assess candidates’ eligibility for several academic positions. These include Junior Research Fellowships, Assistant Professor roles, and opportunities for PhD admissions.

The exam is set to cover five subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. Each subject provides prospective candidates with a pathway for advancing their academic careers.
