Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) NGO, in collaboration with The Esthetic Clinics, had announced a Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp dedicated to the health and well-being of the brave police officers serving at Vakola Police Station.
Fungal infections can occur on the skin, nails, and in various internal organs, often presenting with symptoms such as itching, redness, or discharge. It’s crucial to seek medical attention if you suspect a fungal infection, as early diagnosis and treatment can prevent more serious health issues. Ignoring a fungal infection may lead to it spreading to other parts of the body or even causing systemic infections. Additionally, those with weakened immune systems due to conditions such as diabetes or HIV are particularly susceptible to severe fungal infections and should be vigilant about seeking prompt medical care. Regular screenings and maintaining good hygiene practices are essential for preventing the spread of fungal infections and ensuring overall health.
This initiative demonstrates a proactive effort to support the health of frontline heroes and promote awareness about preventive measures in the face of challenging times. Around 27 police officers and staff underwent free skin fungal infection check-ups.
Dr. Debraj Shome, Director of Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) has announced plans to provide vital health support to police officers across Mumbai. This will involve offering complimentary skin fungal infection check-ups and educating them on practical precautions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. The main aim of this initiative is not only to address immediate health issues but also to express gratitude for the unwavering dedication of the police force. This collaboration underscores both organizations’ commitment to giving back to the community and ensuring the well-being of individuals in high-risk professions such as law enforcement.
Dr. Rinky Kapoor, a Dermatologist at The Esthetic Clinics, emphasized the importance of skin fungal infection check-ups in detecting potential issues early and educating individuals about simple yet effective precautions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases like fungal infections. “During these check-ups, experienced our dermatologists thoroughly examine any areas of concern and provide personalized advice on treatment and prevention. By participating in these complimentary check-ups, patients can stay informed about their skin health and take proactive measures to maintain it.”
“Additionally, the team stresses the significance of good hygiene and proper skin care to guard against fungal infections. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with knowledge and tools to protect their skin health and overall well-being while minimizing the impact of skin fungal infections in the community through educational efforts and regular check-ups,” added Dr Kapoor.
Mr.Prakash Khandekar Senior Police Inspector Said, “I am thankful to DAF and The Esthetic Clinics for arranging a unique camp today a Vakola Police station, that focused on raising awareness about infectious diseases. The Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp is a proactive step towards promoting the health and well-being of our police officers.
