CSR: Partnership with Karnataka Government to recycle plastic after MahaShivratri

Bengaluru, India: Bisleri International has teamed up with the Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka Forest Department to conduct a large-scale plastic collection drive, at the Charmadi Ghat. The Bisleri International team started the collection under its “Bottles for Change” initiative, on March 14, 2024, following the MahaShivratri celebrations at the temple on March 8, 2024, which drew phenomenal footfalls of devotees. The team has collected 1,958 kgs used plastic consumed by devotees and delivered them for recycling. More than One lakh people visited the temple this year.
Mr Mohan Kumar, Range Forest Officer, Karnataka Forest Department says, “This partnership represents a crucial move to ensure environmental sustainability. We applaud Bisleri International’s cooperation and active involvement in recycling endeavours under their ‘Bottles for Change’ initiative. We will continue together to strive for a greener future for Karnataka.”
Speaking about the association, K Ganesh, Director – OSR & Corporate Affairs, Bisleri International says, “We are privileged to partner with the Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka Forest Department to advance environmental stewardship through our ‘Bottles for Change’ initiative. This collaboration emphasizes our joint commitment to catalyzing positive transformation and forging a sustainable future for Karnataka.”
Hasira Tapassu, an NGO based in Mundaje, along with the National Service Scheme (NSS) team and Rover and Ranger team from Vivekananda Educational Institutions, Mundaje, also collaborated with Bisleri International as part of the ‘Bottles for Change’ initiative.
