Around 45 newly elected Lok Sabha MPs from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast at 9 AM on August 7 at his residence. The gathering will include first-time MPs who have recently joined the NDA from various parties, including the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the Nationalist Congress Party India (NCPI), the United Bharat Front (UBT), and the Shiv Sena. This meeting follows a similar breakfast event that took place with newly elected BJP Rajya Sabha MPs.
As reported, NCPI leader Yusuf Pathan confirmed his attendance, stating he would participate in activities beneficial for the nation while expressing enthusiasm about meeting the Prime Minister. The development reflects the NDA’s ongoing engagement with its new members to foster camaraderie and collaboration among them.
Recent Meeting with Rajya Sabha MPs
This meeting comes on the heels of a breakfast session held on August 5 for 37 newly elected BJP Rajya Sabha MPs. During this cordial gathering, Prime Minister Modi provided guidance and addressed various queries raised by the MPs. The Prime Minister reiterated essential points regarding their roles and responsibilities as parliamentarians, particularly urging caution in personal and professional interactions within Delhi.
According to sources, PM Modi advised MPs against becoming overly entangled in the complexities of Delhi politics. He emphasised the importance of maintaining integrity and dignity in all political engagements, both inside and outside parliamentary sessions. Furthermore, he urged them to utilise social media platforms judiciously to communicate effectively with the youth and disseminate government initiatives.
In his address, the Prime Minister also underscored the significance of engaging thoughtfully with colleagues from both the ruling party and the opposition. When an MP inquired about his ability to multitask, Modi responded that he remains focused on the present moment while executing his duties. He further encouraged a healthy lifestyle and regular yoga practice, noting that it aids in maintaining his energy levels despite limited sleep.
Guidance on Parliamentary Engagement
During the interaction, MPs expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister’s guidance concerning their roles in Parliament. Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal remarked on the valuable insights he received on personal, social, and political matters. According to Mittal, the meeting helped foster a sense of direction among the MPs regarding their responsibilities.
