Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), praised the statements made by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat regarding the rights of the younger generation to protest. Dipke’s comments come in light of Bhagwat’s interaction with Gen Z and Gen Alpha at a session held at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai on August 6. During this event, Bhagwat asserted that the youth’s grievances are legitimate and that they should not be labelled as anti-national for voicing their concerns.

In an interview, Dipke emphasised the importance of Bhagwat’s remarks, stating that the assertion that Gen Z should not be branded as anti-nationals marks a significant shift in discourse. Dipke expressed his agreement with the viewpoint that protesting forms an essential part of democratic expression.

Furthermore, Dipke urged Bhagwat to leverage his influence within the BJP and among government officials to foster a more inclusive environment for dialogue. He encouraged Bhagwat to deliver this crucial message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders, advocating for a change in how student protests are perceived.

BJP Leaders Criticised for Disparaging Language

Dipke also highlighted the troubling trend of derogatory remarks directed towards students by certain BJP leaders in the past. He referenced specific incidents, including comments made by minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who reportedly referred to protesting students as the ‘B-team of terrorists’, and Nitin Nabin, who labelled them as a ‘virus’.

In addressing the troubling narrative, Dipke expressed hope that the BJP would heed Bhagwat’s counsel, given the close association between the party and the RSS. He noted the unlikelihood of BJP officials ignoring Bhagwat’s message, hinting at the potential ramifications for the party if they were to dismiss such guidance.

Additionally, Dipke responded to Bhagwat’s concerns regarding misleading videos circulated on social media, calling for an inquiry into the origin of such content. He underscored the necessity of distinguishing between genuine and fake videos, suggesting that a considerable number stem from the BJP’s IT Cell.

CJP Expresses Solidarity with Student Protests in Jharkhand

Furthering his message of support, Dipke articulated the CJP’s solidarity with the ongoing student protests in Jharkhand. He stated that a delegation from his party had arrived at the protest site, distributing food to demonstrators and voicing their backing for the protestors’ demands.

Dipke indicated his intention to join the protests, despite facing some health challenges. He praised the students for stepping forward as leaders in their own right, stressing that it was not essential for him to lead every initiative. He encouraged the youth to take charge and advocate for their rights within the education system.

Reiterating the CJP’s role as a pressure group, Dipke articulated the importance of holding authorities accountable. He maintained that collective action among citizens is vital in demanding accountability from those in power, noting past instances where public pressure has led to substantial changes, including resignations.
