The CSR Journal Magazine

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited the Sathya Sai Grama located near Muddenahalli in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur district on July 24. During his visit, he conducted an extensive review of the various service initiatives that the organisation is implementing. His tour included the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, known for its super speciality healthcare offerings.

The Chief Minister engaged with the hospital administration to gain insights into the free healthcare services and the overall medical facilities provided to patients. He received a detailed briefing on the functioning of the institution, which is renowned for its commitment to social welfare. The visit included interactions with both doctors and students affiliated with the hospital.

In attendance were senior officials from the Sathya Sai organisation, local dignitaries, and members of the hospital’s administrative staff. The interactions were aimed at understanding how the institution operates and the impact it has on the local community.

Call for Similar Institutions in Chhattisgarh

During his discussions, CM Sai expressed a desire for similar healthcare institutions to be established in Chhattisgarh. He stated that the initiatives observed at Sathya Sai Grama could significantly strengthen healthcare and development efforts in his home state. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of such establishments in fostering overall growth, especially in the context of the state’s recovery from decades of Naxalism.

He remarked on the considerable challenges that Chhattisgarh has faced and the ongoing need for development work within the state. CM Sai emphasised that the services and infrastructure available at the Karnataka facility serve as an inspiration, advocating the establishment of analogous institutions back home. He conveyed enthusiasm at the quality of services observed and reiterated the necessity for more healthcare facilities in Chhattisgarh.

This call for action reflects the administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare for citizens in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister’s visit aims to lay the groundwork for potential future collaborations or projects focused on healthcare development in the state.

Chhattisgarh’s Growth as an Investment Destination

In related news, Chhattisgarh has recently been recognised as one of India’s rapid-growing investment locations. On July 19, the state was acknowledged for its improvement in investment parameters, moving beyond its traditional reliance on the coal, iron ore, and steel industries. Reports indicate that Chhattisgarh’s position has significantly improved in the CRISIL-NITI Aayog Investment Friendliness Index (IFI) for 2026.

The state has achieved the top rank in critical investor parameters including Regulatory Ease and Institutional Environment, scoring 47.5 overall. This accomplishment marks it above other established industrial states such as Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Rajasthan. The improvement reflects extensive administrative and policy reforms that have been implemented over the past year and a half.

Furthermore, industrial approvals and regulatory clearances in Chhattisgarh are reportedly being processed more efficiently than in previous years. The state received strong scores in both Regulatory Ease—8.4 out of 12—and Institutional Environment—4.5 out of 6—leading amongst the participating states. Chhattisgarh’s reforms are further backed by legislative measures, as it has enacted the Chhattisgarh Ease of Doing Business Act, 2026, becoming the first state in India to introduce a risk-based regulatory framework.
