BJP President Nitin Nabin Anticipates Victory in West Bengal Assembly Elections

The CSR Journal Magazine

BJP National President Nitin Nabin has launched a staunch critique of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that she has shown disrespect to the people of West Bengal, often referred to as “Maa Mati Manush.” Nabin conveyed his belief in a forthcoming BJP victory as the state approaches the decisive final phase of the assembly elections. While participating in a roadshow in North 24 Parganas, he remarked on the deep connection the electorate has developed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Nabin asserted that the residents of West Bengal have resolved to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the polls scheduled for May 4. He emphasised that the manner in which Banerjee has allegedly disrespected the people will result in a strong response from the electorate. He stated, “PM Modi resides in the hearts of the people of the state,” reinforcing the party’s position as a formidable contender in the upcoming elections.

Prime Minister Modi’s Campaign Efforts

Earlier on the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an election rally in North 24 Parganas, a crucial district in the BJP’s campaign strategy. BOasting the highest population density in West Bengal, this district includes regions such as Bidhannagar, Barasat, and Barrackpore. The Prime Minister aimed to consolidate support for the BJP during his visit.

During the rally, Modi delivered a ferocious critique of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, accusing it of failing to protect women in the state. He made promises to intensify efforts against crime, stating that should the BJP come to power, it would “hunt down goons and rapists.” His categorisation of the incumbent government’s regime as “Jungle Raj” highlights his party’s portrayal of lawlessness in the state.

Modi highlighted the plight of women in Bengal, claiming they are among the primary victims of the TMC’s governance. He recounted instances of violence and violation faced by women, especially in places like Sandeshkhali. Modi vowed to restrict such abuses and ensure safety for women, pledging that the BJP would offer both security and opportunities.

Election Statistics and Future Plans

Polling for the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections ended at 6 pm on April 26, with an impressive voter turnout of 91.78 per cent, as reported by the Election Commission of India. This high turnout reflects a vigorous electoral process amid strict security measures implemented across constituencies.

The second phase of polling for the remaining 142 assembly seats in West Bengal is set for April 29, with results expected to be announced on May 4. In his address, Prime Minister Modi also promised concrete financial support for women, proposing to deposit Rs 36,000 annually into their accounts if the BJP secures power in the state. Furthermore, he pledged a 33 per cent reservation for women in government positions, asserting that the BJP’s governance would significantly benefit women in Bengal.

The upcoming election and its results could shape the political landscape of West Bengal significantly, as both major parties continue their campaigns to sway public opinion and capture voter support in this highly contested region.
